Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai quickly became a huge hit after its release and marked the debut of Ameesha Patel, as she was cast just three days before filming began. The actress, who thought her role in the Hrithik Roshan film was destined, shared that she had previously declined offers for films like Prem Aggan and Himalaya Putra. In a recent interview, Patel mentioned that she also chose to reject a job offer from Morgan Stanley to pursue her first acting role.

In a recent interview with BeautybyBiE, the actress shared how she met Rakesh Roshan and was offered her first film. She explained that she had reluctantly attended a wedding with her family when she met the director.

As they passed each other, he looked at her, blinked, and asked his father if she was his girlfriend. Her father replied that she had just graduated and was returning from Boston.

The day after their brief meeting, Rakesh invited her to lunch at his house, which she was initially hesitant to accept because the trip was long. Ameesha later realized that he actually wanted to invite her to discuss her role in the film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai.

Patel said she went to lunch in casual clothes, no makeup and was not happy about making the trip. When she arrived, she found Hrithik Roshan, who was a childhood friend, there.

The Gadar actress complimented him on his appearance but immediately asked him where the toilet was, which made him think she was a bit weird.

While Ameesha was in the toilet, Rakesh and Hrithik spoke about her, with Rakesh expressing his excitement at finding the actress for their film. When the actress returned from the bathroom, she thought lunch was just a social gathering and was ready to go home.

After eating, the director asked her questions about her future projects. She told him she wasn’t sure whether to return to Boston to continue her education or accept a job offer from Morgan Stanley, which was a great opportunity.

Then Rakesh surprised her by mentioning acting. Ameesha mentioned his past experience in school plays and dancing, but had no interest in Bollywood.

Krrish’s director then presents him with a contract offering him a role in a film that he wishes to make with his son. Although she wasn’t sure, she finally agreed after thinking about it for a few minutes, reasoning that if the film didn’t work, she could return to her studies and work, as she also had other offers.
