A cordon and search operation was carried out in the colony in the weaker section of Kurnool town on Monday under the leadership of Superintendent of Police G. Bindu Madhav.

The operation saw the participation of a large police contingent, comprising six circle inspectors (CIs), five sub-inspectors (SIs) and a total of 75 police officers. A key element of this operation was the counseling session held for known thugs and other suspects residing in the area. Police searched the homes of individuals identified as suspects, with the aim of deterring any illicit activity and ensuring the safety of the community.

As part of community engagement, police officials held a meeting with residents of the weaker section colony, to address their concerns and invite their cooperation. They warned that strict action would be taken against individuals indulging in illegal activities. Police also called for a proactive approach from the community, urging residents to report any suspicious behavior or illegal actions. Police officials assured that any information provided would be treated confidentially and appropriate reward would be offered for concrete tips.

During this operation, the police seized 15 motorcycles which were found to have no valid papers in the colony.
