Some fun new information has surfaced for Tim Millerthe upcoming adult-themed video game anthology series Secret level. The series explores original stories set in the worlds of some of the most beloved video games.

One of these stories takes place in the classic gaming world Pac-Manbut this is going to be a much darker version than anything we’ve ever seen before. In fact, ghosts have been reimagined as flesh-eating monsters!

Miller teased, “When I pitch it to people, I say, ‘This is actually our bloodiest episode ever.’ And they say, ‘Oh my God, I can’t wait.’

Series screenwriter JT Petty explained in an interview with THIS: “We spent a lot of time trying to respect all 50 years of history with Pac-Man and I made a lot of cute retro style cartoons Pac-Man s—. Eventually Dave and I were like we should just do the John Melius version of it. What is the Pac-Man blood meridian? »

In the story, “a man (voiced by Aleks Le) wakes up from his sleep, suspended in a tank of water. He has no memory of who he is or how he got there. Via email, Le likens this character to “a newborn in concept but with the motor functions and abilities of an adult.”

“All this character knows is that there is some sort of spherical android floating in front of him (voiced by The Mandalorian‘s Emily Hirondelle). Puck – named after Pac-Man’s original nickname, Puck-Man – claims he is “the chosen one”, someone destined to escape the maze they are currently trapped in.

“Whether Puck can actually be trusted or if there is more to this reality is another matter.” Puck guides the man to a sword, which he uses to traverse the jungles and barren deserts of this world in order to find a way to escape.

So it’s going to be fun! The Pac-Man episode was revealed in the latest trailer released, but we also have new footage to check out above and below.

The series comes from Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio, creators of Love, Death + Robotsand it includes 15 mind-blowing episodes and groundbreaking animation.

Here is the list of games that inspired the 15 epic stories found in the series: Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, PlayStation (highlighting various beloved PlayStation Studios entities), Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal TournamentAnd Warhammer 40,000.

The voice cast includes Arnold Schwarzenegger (The terminator), Kevin Hart (Jumanji), Keanu Reeves (John Wick), Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us, Terminator: Dark Fate), Temuera Morrison (The Book of Boba Fett, Warlord) And Ariana Greenblatt (barbie).

Other cast members include Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus), Sky Hart, Emily Hirondelle (The Mandalorian), Ricky Whittle (American gods, land of evil), Merle Dandridge (The last of us), Claudia Doumit (The boys), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, the Union), Clive Standen (Vikings, the morning show), Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina), And Michel Beach (King of Tulsa).

Secret level will be available exclusively on Prime Video on December 10.
