She was one of the most talked about contestants on this year’s season. The blockbut fans shouldn’t expect Kylie Boulanger return to television soon thanks to an important clause in it Channel Nine contract. A casting producer tells Yahoo Lifestyle as Kylie, as well as Married at first sight breakout star Lucinda Lighthas attracted interest from competing networks to appear on various reality shows in 2025.

However, they were both disappointed as their contract states that they “may not appear in any media without the prior written consent of Channel Nine” – a clause the channel is unlikely to revoke. They will be able to do whatever they want at the end of their contract, 12 months after their shows stop airing on TV, but for now they have to run every opportunity through Nine.

“Lucinda and Kylie were unable to sign up for the new reality shows that are going into production,” our source shares. “It has been discussed internally about taking part in something ‘quite different’ to what we have seen them in before, but unfortunately they have restrictions on signing up for more reality TV in Australia.

“After appearing on a reality show in Australia, it’s quite common for the channel that aired your show to hold you off for 12 months. Channel Nine may have plans for you, but the reality is that very few MAFS stars or Blockheads end up getting another show within 12 months.

A casting agent says Yahoo Lifestyle that they believe the clause in Channel Nine’s contract is intended to “stop reality TV stars extending their 15 minutes of fame”.

“It happens every year and these kinds of TV personalities usually only generate short-term interest. You have to be very talented or have maintained your brand for casting producers to be interested in you 12 months after your show ends,” they share.

Another insider tells us that in addition to the potential legal consequences, The block participants must “play nice with Channel Nine” while they wait for their payments to sell their house at auction.

“The $650,000 that Kylie and Brad won at the auction is deposited into their bank account in three installments which are not settled until 12 months after the sale of the house,” they explain. “It’s difficult to make things happen while waiting for these kinds of payments. »
