LIVE OAK, Fla. (WCTV) – An unannounced smuggling operation at the Suwannee Correctional Facility resulted in the recovery of nearly 60 makeshift weapons and several grams of various drugs, among other items prohibited to inmates, according to a news release from joint press of several law enforcement agencies.

The mass search authorities dubbed “Operation Fall Harvest” involved partnerships between the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC), the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), and the Office of the Suwannee County Sheriff, according to the news release. .

The purpose of the search was to “locate and eradicate any contraband discovered in an establishment, as well as to remind those engaged in illegal activities that there is no tolerance for any misconduct,” authorities say.

Florida Department of Corrections Secretary Ricky Dixon said law enforcement often conducts these types of searches, but this one was different.

“Our staff conduct operations like these throughout the year to target dangerous contraband and keep our facilities secure,” Dixon said. “What makes this day unique is the ability to include our amazing partners in this endeavor. »

• 25 cell phone chargers
• 7 cell phones
• Cell phone accessories
• 19 gallons of homemade alcohol
• 13 grams of synthetic marijuana
• 26 grams of THC
• 44 grams of methamphetamine
• 1 THC vape pen
• 3 security bits
• 1 Allen key
• $300 cash
