The Mumbai Traffic Police on Thursday issued a travel advisory for Saturday, November 23, in view of the scheduled counting of votes for the parliamentary elections. The results of the Maharashtra assembly elections, held on November 20, will be declared on that day, revealing the final winner, Mahayuti or Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

“Due to the strong room located at Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex, Sant Channyya Road Dharavi, Mumbai. The following traffic regulations and control will come into effect temporarily on 23/11/2024 from 00:01 to 00:01,” Mumbai Traffic Police said in a post on X.

According to the notice, the Kurla Traffic Division will implement temporary traffic rules in certain areas of the road. results day. The traffic restrictions will come into effect at 1:00 a.m. and will remain in effect until 11:00 p.m. that day. Residents should note route closures and detours to avoid delays and plan their travel accordingly.

The routes along which traffic will be affected include Assembly Office 178-Dharavi and Strong Room located at Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex, Sant Channyya Road (Dharavi Depot Road) and Dharavi, Mumbai. “These measures aim to ensure smooth and secure traffic during the period vote counting process on November 23, 2024,” the notice notes.

Routes closed

Routes on which no entry will be permitted include the southbound direction of Sant Channyya road (Dharavi Depot Road). Entry for all types of vehicles will be restricted from Shri Dattu Katake Chauk (Kacharpatti Junction) to Dharavi ‘Y’ Junction.

Alternative routes

Commuters should take note of the diversions offered by the traffic police to avoid any hassles during their journey. As per the November 19 advisory, alternative routes to be taken include Shri Dattu Katake Chauk (Kacharpatti Junction). From here continue to LBS Marg and then take Pai Naresh Mane Junction (Sion Stn. Junction).

After this, vehicles have to turn right towards St. Rohidas Marg and cross Dharavi ‘Y’ junction to reach the desired destination.
