Wood County Christian helps families prepare for FAFSA

WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. (WTAP) – Wood County Christian hosted a Financial 101 meeting for students and their parents.

This is the first year that senior high school teacher and senior advisor Naddine Border has held this meeting.

Border said her knowledge was limited when she sent her child to college last year and feels hosting a class for other parents is beneficial.

Parents and their children gathered to listen to the presentation and take notes on how to complete the FAFSA.

“Last year I had a student who graduated; my daughter and I felt like we didn’t have information on how to help her and my own students and how to help them pay and find all the resources available to them. Border said.

The FAFSA is now open to students.
