Sappiamo dell’isistenza di una a strada romana che collegava Catania con Agrigento grazie all’Itinerary Antonini. In this race of roads that cross the Impero the Catina-Agrigento compare due to the volte, ovvero nel percorso definito A Traiecto Lilybéo and nel percorso in Catina Agrigentum mansionibus nunc institutis. If you generally learn that the second pierces its stilato state in coincidence with a station addition inside, there is a tracciato (A Traiecto Lilybéo) or with a mutation of the original route of the road which, in a given momento, suggests the almost exclusive presence of the name of previous origin, you must pass through the great latifondiste aziende; tale modification viene fatta risalire al potenziamento del public course which concerns Sicily in the IV sec. dC The identification of the follow-up of this route risks particularly problematic, due to the almost all archaeological evidence which relates directly to the viability (such as for example bridges or military), which relies on the assistance of indications relating to an intermediate city, and ultimately for the difficulty of precisely individualizing the named stations, in terms of the number of these locations. In light of the difficulties, an integrated approach that aims at the affiliation of geotecnology to the classical methodology of country archeology has consented to the acquisition of new data and certain properties relative to the entire area of the road and to the whole region. mansions a questa connesse, con particolare riferimento a Philosopherricadente with all the pressure probabilities of the current c.da Sofiana di Mazzarino, a pochi chilometri dalla Villa del Casale.

Marco Sfacteria is director of the Topografia Antica presso il Dipartimento di Civiltà Antiche e Moderne dell’Università degli studi di Messina. In 2012 he completed the Master II Livello in Geotecnology for Archeology from the University of Studies of Siena and in 2017 the Doctor in Archaeological and Historical Sciences from the University of Studies of Messina. For years I have been adhering to the liberal profession and enrolling in first grade secondary school with participation – with responsibilities – in career projects in Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata, Tuscany and in Trentino-Alto Adige. There are numerous scientific publications, within the framework of national and international activities, which concern technology applied to archaeological research, ancient viability – particularly Sicily and Calabria – and insedative dynamics in central-southern Sicily, in the alto Tirreno Cosentino and in the Lao-Mercury Valley. Since 2024 he has been scientific director of the archaeological reconnaissance project in the agro di Siniscola (Nu).
