A man has been fined and banned from driving after causing a crash which claimed the life of a 76-year-old man.

The pensioner was hit by a black Ford Focus at a level crossing on Brayford Way, near the University of Lincoln, on November 12, 2023. An air ambulance took the man to hospital, where he died of injuries. following his injuries the next day.

Bramley Bince-Butcher, 45, of Linnet Close, Lincoln, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

He was fined £362 and banned from driving for 12 months.
