The Giants did not waive quarterback Daniel Jones on Friday

The giants announced that they had released Daniel Jones, but the quarterback was not listed on the league’s transaction report Friday.

That means the team will likely waive him on Saturday.

He will go through waivers, but due to his contract, Jones will likely be cleared and become a free agent.

Jones requested his release from owner John Mara on Friday, and the Giants agreed. The move has therefore been announced but not yet processed.

The Giants had demoted Jones to fourth on the depth chart, due to a $23 million injury guarantee on his contract for next season.

Jones, 27, finishes his time in New York with a 24-44-1 record, 14,582 passing yards, 70 touchdown passes and 47 interceptions. He also rushed for 2,179 yards and 15 touchdowns.
