Fleetwood Town defender Kayden Hughes has signed a new long-term contract to stay with the League Two side until the end of the 2026-27 season.

The 18-year-old came through the club’s academy after joining the Bispham Juniors Football Federation.

The centre-back signed his first professional contract in 2023 and made his first-team debut for the club earlier this season.

Hughes, who has since made nine appearances in all competitions, signs his new contract with an additional year option.
