Police are searching for the suspect they say shot and killed a man at a home in New Hope on Thursday.

According to the New Hope Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at a home in the 7300 block of Bass Lake Road at 9:39 p.m. and found Carnell Johnson Jr., 23, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim received immediate medical attention and transported to North Memorial Health Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Police say the victim and shooter knew each other and this was not a random crime.

The suspect was missing once officers arrived and police are asking anyone with information to contact the New Hope Police Department at (763) 531-5170.
