Bhubaneswar: Out of the 2.67 lakh applications rejected for the Subhadra Yojanaaround 22% will receive first installment of Rs 5,000 on Sunday, deputy chief minister Pravati Parida said Saturday.
Around 5 lakh applications with anomalies could benefit in December during the last phase of releasing the first installment, she said.

Through these efforts, more than 58,740 beneficiaries have been included in the program and they will receive the first payment on Sunday,” Parida said. Parida said the fate of another 5 lakh applications is uncertain as the anomalies could not be resolved. “A significant number of applicants were found ineligible under the land ownership criteria set under the scheme. These applications were forwarded to the block level for further consideration and possible re-evaluation,” she added .
“The final phase of the release of funds for the first tranche will take place in December, during which the government will try to include as many beneficiaries as possible, whose applications were rejected,” Parida said.
A total of 1.16 million applications have been received so far for the Subhadra scheme, a flagship scheme of the BJP government. Around 60 lakh beneficiaries received the first installment of Rs 5,000 in two phases under the scheme launched on September 17. Around 20 lakh additional beneficiaries, including all anganwadi workers, will receive the first installment of the scheme on Sunday.
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to women aged 21 to 60 years who have an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh. Eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 per year in two installments per year for the next five years. The disbursement of the fourth and final phase of the first installment will cover over one crore women in the state.
