RCD Mallorca star Vedat Muriqi received a red card for a very strange reason on Saturday evening.

This is what happened during Mallorca’s victory over Las Palmas.

Jagoba Arrasate’s troops recently marked their return to action, traveling to Gran Canaria for a La Liga meeting with Las Palmas.

Ultimately, in an entertaining affair, the visitors came out on the right side of the result, thanks to a last minute winner from Johan Mojica.

All this happened despite Mallorca being down to ten men, after the aforementioned Vedat Muriqi was sent for a morning bath in the most unusual circumstances.

After an exchange between the Bermellones leader and Jaime Mata, Muriqi was seen gesturing towards the Las Palmas star.

The incident, from here, was sent to the VAR room, before referee Alejandro Muniz was called to the pitch monitor.

Replays of the incident showed Muriqi flashing his middle finger at Jaime, with Muniz coming to the conclusion that this merited a straight red card.
