The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata will conduct the CAT 2024 exam today (November 24) in three shifts. Candidates will have to appear at the Common Admission Test (CAT) examination center based on the time and session mentioned in the admit card.

The first shift of CAT 2024 will start at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 10:30 a.m., the second shift will take place in the afternoon between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The last and third session of CAT 2024 will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m.

Candidates will need to bring their original CAT 2024 admit card and identity proof to the exam center.

CAT 2024 will be held today (November 24) and results are expected in late December or early January.

Exam day requirements

  • A printed copy of CAT 2024 admit card.
  • An original and valid identity document.

Scoring scheme

Multiple choice questions (MCQ):

  • Correct answers: +3 points
  • Incorrect answers: -1 point
  • Questions not attempted: no marks

For non-MCQ questions:

  • Correct answers: +3 points
  • Incorrect or unattempted answers: no points

Things to keep in mind

Carry the original identity proof and a printed CAT 2024 admit card.

Attach a recent photograph to the admission card (corresponding to the one submitted with the application).

Submit the admit card in the designated drop box after the exam.

A pen and notepad will be provided at the exam center; both must be returned after the test.

Only the mouse is allowed to navigate the online exam. Using the keypad will cause the system to lock.

Prohibited items

Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, watches, calculators, personal stationery, wallets and sunglasses are not allowed in the examination hall.

Non-disclosure agreement

Candidates must sign a non-disclosure agreement, which prohibits the sharing, reproduction or transmission of any information relating to the exam in any form.

This time, 3.29 lakh eligible candidates will take the exam as per the data on the official website. The exam will be held at testing centers in around 170 cities.
