Dortmund crushes Freiburg 4-0 and maintains a perfect home record

DORTMUND, Germany: Borussia Dortmund beat Freiburg 4-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday to make it six league wins from six home matches this season and move up to fifth place.

Freiburg, who finished the match with nine men, had an afternoon to forget after Patrick Osterhage was sent off in the 63rd minute with a double warning and Junior Adamu was sent off in stoppage time in the second half.

Dortmund, who travel to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday before facing leaders Bayern Munich in the league next week, had several players returning from injury but were without their best striker Serhou Guirassy.

The hosts looked lively from the start and took the lead in the seventh minute thanks to a fine finish from Maximilian Beier after he was sent in with a perfectly timed pass.

The Ruhr club, who are yet to win an away league match but have a perfect home record in all competitions this season, doubled their lead thanks to a daring 25-yard shot from Felix Nmecha which took Friborg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu by surprise.

Julian Brandt made sure of all three points with a perfectly executed free kick which he floated into the top corner in the 66th before Jamie Bynoe-Gittens added another goal 11 minutes later.

Dortmund now have 19 points in fifth place, while Bayern Munich, a 3-0 winner against Augsburg on Friday, are top with 29.
