New speed limits in several locations across Jersey will come into force on Monday.

The discounts are part of the discounts granted by the States of Jersey. Island Speed ​​Limit Framework which, according to her, aims to improve road safety.

The changes include Bonne Nuit Bay and St Lawrence roads going from 40 mph to 20 mph and St Brelade and La Rue de Sorel roads going from 40 mph to 30 mph.

The States of Jersey said the changes reflected the island’s commitment to responsible traffic management.

“Traffic speed management helps other road users feel safer and encourages

people to walk and cycle,” the U.S. said.

“This is especially important for those traveling to and from school.”

The changes are:

  • St John’s Village: Speed ​​limits will be adjusted in line with the 20mph St John’s Village Improvement Scheme.
  • La Rue de Sorel: The speed limit towards Sorel Point will be reduced from 40 mph to 30 mph.
  • Baie Bonne Nuit: A reduction from 40 mph to 20 mph will be implemented.
  • St Brelade: La Pulente Hill will see a reduction from 40 mph to 30 mph, from the Rue de la Sergente crossing to a point just north of the La Pulente slipway on the Route of Pulente.
  • Saint-Laurent: Rue des Saints Germains will have a reduced speed limit from 40 mph to 20 mph, extending to St John’s Rue des Servais.
