Dear provided new insight into her romance with her boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwardswhile promoting her new memoir during a recent interview.

The 78-year-old “Believe” singer was in attendance a handful of red carpet events with her music director boyfriend of 38 years since the two first met at a fashion show in Paris in 2022. Although the couple are the rumor would have briefly separated in 2023, they seemed to get back on track shortly after and later collaborated on ChristmasCher’s 2023 holiday album.

Cher, who released the first volume of Dear: The Memoirs on November 19, was asked about her relationship with Edwards during a recent interview with The times. “We get along very well, even though we come from two completely different worlds,” Dreamer the actress said, adding that she and Edwards are able to expose each other to different perspectives on music and culture.

Cher later mentioned Edwards when asked by the British newspaper what made her happy. The sister of the “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer and two children—Chaz Bonothat she shares with her late ex-husband Sonny BonoAnd Elie Allmanthat she shares with her late ex-husband Gregg Allman…is also part of the list.

Cher made similar comments almost two years ago about her new romance with Edwards. “On paper, it’s a little ridiculous,” Cher said Kelly Clarkson during a Appearing in December 2022 on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “But in real life, we get along really well. He’s fabulous, and I don’t give men qualities they don’t deserve. But he’s very kind, very smart, very talented, and really funny. And I think he’s quite handsome.
