Apple has now released iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, as well as macOS Sequoia 15.1. What all of these software versions have in common is the presence of the first Apple Intelligence features. For now, these features are accessible “in most regions of the world,” Apple says, when the device and Siri language are set to American English.

These regions don’t seem to include the EU, however – at least not for iOS and iPadOS. Apple says Mac users in the EU can access Apple Intelligence in US English with macOS Sequoia 15.1. Apple Intelligence will be available to iPhone and iPad users in the EU in April.

The rollout “will include many core Apple Intelligence features, including writing tools, Genmoji, redesigned Siri with richer language understanding, ChatGPT integration, and more.”

There are unfortunately no additional details at the moment, but we at least now have a release schedule for Apple Intelligence in the EU on iOS and iPadOS.

Apple is cautious about bringing Apple Intelligence to the EU due to regulations such as the Digital Markets Act (DMA), trying to avoid running afoul of these regulations, while EU officials are criticizing the company for doing just that.
