LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Stephens County Commissioners voted today, October 28, to extend their burn ban, with strict guidelines.

According to documents signed and notarized by officials.

There are no exceptions to the ban, meaning any fire-related activity in the county is prohibited.

This includes outdoor cooking, welding, grinding, fireworks, and all area farmers and ranchers conducting prescribed burns.

The strict ban comes as fire watches have been issued across the region amid significant drought conditions.
