Sunday mostly cloudy, windy and cool

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Today will be mostly if not completely cloudy. Clearing is likely in southern Maine. A few scattered showers will persist throughout the day. High temperatures will range from the mid 30s to mid 40s. Winds will be from the northwest at 10-25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Gale warnings will continue to impact the coast due to winds, with subsequent waves of 5 to 8 feet.

Skies overnight will be mostly cloudy, before clearing for the Bangor area, Midcoast and southern Maine. A few light snow showers will extend across northern Maine. Low temperatures range from the mid 20s to 30s. Winds remain out of the northwest at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

On Monday, a weak high pressure system will move south of us, bringing drier conditions and some sunshine. Skies will be mostly sunny in the morning and partly sunny in the afternoon. Conditions remain cloudier in the north and in parts of the Downeast close to the Canadian border. High temperatures will range from the low 30s to upper 40s. Winds will be from the northwest at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Showers return on Tuesday with the passage of a frontal system heard from the southwest. The morning hours will feature snow, rain and mixed precipitation for many, making the morning drive dicey. Conditions become clearer in the afternoon, with precipitation south and east of I-95, while snowfall north and west of it. The sky will be cloudy. High temperatures will range from the mid 30s to 50s. Winds will be from the SE, with gusts reaching 25 mph.

Drier conditions return on Wednesday. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny, while northern Maine holds on to cloudier conditions. A few lighter snow showers are possible to the north and west. High temperatures will range from the low 30s to upper 40s. The wind will be from the SW with gusts up to 30 mph.

Drier conditions are expected to persist Thursday morning and midday before a few showers arrive later in the afternoon for Thanksgiving. Skies will start out partly cloudy, before clouds and showers arrive as the sun sets. Highs will range from the 30s to mid 40s. Winds will be gusty from the SW, up to 25 mph.

Friday is expected to be generally cloudy, with snow showers in the morning. The afternoon could feature a mix of rain and snow. High temperatures will range from the low 30s to upper 40s. Winds will be gusty from the NE, up to 25 mph.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Scattered light rain/snow showers. High temperatures mid 30s to mid 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 25 mph, gusts 35 mph. Gale warnings for the coast.

MONDAY: A weak high pressure enters. Partly to mostly sunny. Cloudier North and Far East. High temperatures ranging from the 30s to upper 40s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph, gusts to 20 mph.

TUESDAY: Entry of depression. Cloudy skies with precipitation for all. AM mix of precipitation, PM well defined rain SE of I-95, snow NW of I-95. High temperatures in the mid 30s to 50s. Southeast wind gusts to 25 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny skies. Cloudy with light snow showers in the north and west. High temperatures ranging from the 30s to upper 40s. SW gusts up to 30 mph.

THURSDAY (Thanksgiving): Partly cloudy in the morning. Mostly cloudy north. Afternoon showers and clouds move in as the sun sets. High temperatures ranging from the 30s to mid 40s. SW gusts up to 25 mph.

FRIDAY: Generally cloudy skies. Snow showers in the morning. PM mixing is possible. High temperatures ranging from the 30s to upper 40s. NE gusts up to 25 mph.
