A body has been found during the search for a missing woman in the Outer Hebrides.

The body of a woman was found in the Aird area of ​​Benbecula at around 1:05 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said formal identification has not yet taken place, but the family of missing woman Shanahan MacInnes has been informed.

The 28-year-old woman was reported missing after she was last seen around 1:30 a.m. on November 22 on Tindall Road in Balivanich.

The force said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be submitted to the Fiscal Prosecutor.
