PM Modi to launch health cover for people aged above 70

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will roll out health coverage to all citizens aged 70 and above, irrespective of their income status, under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

“The Prime Minister is likely to launch the expanded scheme of Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme for those aged 70 years and above. This will benefit around six million citizens in around 4.5 million households,” the news agency reported. PTI citing a source.

As of September 1, 2024, a total of 29,648 hospitals, including 12,696 private hospitals, have been brought under the PMJAY.

Kamala Harris to Deliver Closing Remarks to Ellipse Before the White House

According to a CNN report, the initial permit estimated a crowd of 7,500 people would attend the rally. The site became iconic with Trump’s speech on January 6, 2021, during which a mob of Trump supporters attacked the United States Capitol, two months after his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.

Vatican to release first report on child sexual abuse

The Pope’s Commission on Child Sexual Abuse will release its first annual report today, a decade after the body was founded.

Pope Francis established the panel in December 2014, amid an avalanche of revelations of sexual abuse by Catholic clergy around the world, and subsequent cover-ups. But it has faced heavy criticism over its organization, funding and role, with many high-profile members leaving.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince to begin official visit to Singapore

Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, will begin an official visit to the Republic of Singapore on Tuesday. This visit comes at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lawrence Wong.

During the visit, the Crown Prince will meet with Wong as well as senior officials and CEOs of major Singaporean companies in areas such as high-tech, artificial intelligence and urban planning. The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in key sectors of mutual interest, benefiting both countries and their peoples.

Alphabet (Google) third quarter results

Alphabet (Google’s parent company) will report its third quarter results today.

“We continue to focus on making AI more useful to everyone, there are exciting advances and more to come,” Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in a statement.

Mint reported that Alphabet President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ruth Porat said the unit’s sales had been affected by cost cuts by some customers. It said cloud growth in the third quarter was driven by “customer optimization efforts,” without elaborating.
