Star Search 2024 Champion Tiffany Ho, 19, Wins Car But Is Not Sure About Getting a Driver’s License

Now we all know what’s next Star search 2024 champion Tiffany Hothe to-do list.

The 19-year-old from Hong Kong returned home with a Mediacorp contract and a brand new BYD seal last night at the Star search finals (November 25) after the emerging champion. Competitive break dancer Gladys Bay came second while swimming coach Jona Chung finished third.

She definitely left an impression on the guest judges — Christopher Lee as well as Hong Kong stars Sandra Ng And Raymond Lam – with her unassailable confidence, her natural talent and for being, in Sandra’s words, “the representative of Hong Kong”.

When asked if having two judges from Hong Kong worked in her favour, the first-year information technology student from Nanyang Polytechnic was quick to refute the correlation.

“They are really very famous in Hong Kong and all Hong Kong people, including me, know them,” Tiffany said when meeting the media after her victory.

“We all watched their shows growing up. If anything, having them as judges made me even more stressed. That’s not a plus. In fact, it’s a minus!” she adds.

While you would think that anyone who just won a car would immediately want to take a test drive and lounge around in the brand new car, Tiffany, unfortunately, can only enjoy part two at the moment.

“I don’t have a license but I’m an adult to be able to take the exam. I’m going to do it right away!” she chirps.

Will she manage to convey it to him on her first try? She tells 8 days.sg she’s not so confident about it.

“I have to raise my hands and (make the L sign) to tell left from right, so I’m not sure I can pass the driving test,” she says sheepishly.

But if she ever gets her license, she wants her first passenger to be Gladys Ng, another Star Search contestant, who stays in Sembawang just like her.

“Then we can go eat lok lok together!” she beams.

Tiffany, who moved to Singapore to study at the age of 13, also says she won’t be leaving our country anytime soon.

She says she was only going to be in Singapore for her studies, but now she “will definitely stay”, although she still needs to discuss the details with her parents as she is still a student.

“We’ll see how it goes from here on out. I couldn’t even wrap my head around the fact that I won,” Tiffany said. “I’m still a little lost as to what’s going to happen next.”

She also doesn’t seem to know how she plans to celebrate her victory.

“I just wanted to spend some time with my parents (who flew out for the final) as they are flying back to Hong Kong tomorrow. But it looks like I won’t be able to do that as there are many interviews waiting for me,” says- She. .

Speaking of her parents, during her victory speech, Tiffany thanked them for “giving her a lot of money” to come to Singapore.

Tiffany’s father is in his sixties and is a taxi driver while her mother is in her fifties and works as a luxury goods wholesaler.

“It’s natural that my parents support me financially because I study, but it’s not like they have to skimp and save,” she laughs, casually avoiding the question of how much her parents gave her .

“But I have to say that every penny was hard earned and I am very grateful,” she says.
