KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police continue to search for the person who fatally shot a man and left him inside a vehicle along a highway exit ramp in Kansas City.

THE Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​I-435 and Truman Rd., near the Pick-n-Pull auto parts store, with reports that an individual passed out in his vehicle.

When first responders arrived, they said they found the vehicle on the highway’s south exit ramp with a man with an apparent gunshot wound inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement said they were investigating the case as a homicide and as of 7 p.m. no one was in custody for the crime. Detectives continue to search the scene for additional evidence.

Investigators said they will also begin canvassing the area for potential witnesses or surveillance footage. Anyone with information about the shooting should report it to the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

The exit ramp remains closed as police continue their investigation. A $25,000 reward is available for information leading to a conviction in this case. No further information has been released.
