TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS12) – Inspectors and agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) went door to door to ensure sex offenders and predators were properly registered to ensure children had a Halloween in completely safe.

The initiative is part of Florida Safe Halloween. So far, officers along with the local sheriff’s office have arrested nine predators and/or sex offenders who were not in compliance with their registration.

“Thank you to Governor Ron DeSantis for his commitment to keeping Florida families safe. Sex offenders must follow the law to demonstrate that they are responsible for their actions and contribute to a safer society. Thank you to our officers and deputies who work these law enforcement operations to make the citizens of Florida safer,” said FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass.
