Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen said bilateral relations between Dhaka and Beijing have remained stable despite geopolitical changes and changing political scenarios.

“No matter how the international situation and political landscape in Bangladesh change, China-Bangladesh relations have always maintained a stable and solid momentum,” he said. The envoy delivered the keynote address at an event titled “2024 Bangladeshi Meeting in China”, organized by the Chinese Embassy at a hotel in the city last night.

Foreign Minister Md Jashim Uddin attended the event as the chief guest.

Ambassador Yao highlighted the historic significance of 2024 for China-Bangladesh relations.

“This year is of historic significance for China-Bangladesh relations. Bilateral relations have reached a new height as a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership,” he said.

He attributed the strong relations between the two countries to mutual understanding and close people-to-people ties.

“During recent interactions with the caretaker government, political parties, students and various communities, I deeply felt the true friendship of the Bangladeshi government and people towards China,” the envoy said.

He noted that the Bangladeshi people want China to provide greater support and expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations.

“If we compare China-Bangladesh relations to a giant ship, they have passed through the trials of changing regional and international situations and progressed steadily and steadily towards the direction they had set,” Yao remarked.

The ambassador congratulated Bangladeshis who visited China in 2024 and highlighted that next year would mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Next year will also be celebrated as the “Year of Human and Cultural Exchanges”.

“The history of friendly exchanges between China and Bangladesh spans more than a thousand years. Despite differences in race, creed and language, we have always maintained peaceful coexistence, harmony and win-win cooperation. winner,” the envoy said.

“At a new historic turning point, China is ready to join hands with its Bangladeshi friends to move in the same direction, overcome challenges and steer the ship of China-Bangladesh friendship towards an even better future,” he said. -he added.

Foreign Minister Jashim Uddin reiterated Bangladesh’s commitment to its friendship with China and expressed desire to further strengthen ties.

“Dhaka is willing to strengthen personnel exchanges at all levels with China, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, promote the continued development of Bangladesh-China relations, and bring greater benefits to the two peoples ” he said.

At the event, Ambassador Yao and Foreign Minister Uddin presented awards to 10 outstanding representatives.
