Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the Constitution Day celebrations at the Supreme Court tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Constitution Day celebrations at the Supreme Court tomorrow.

Since 2015, November 26 has been celebrated as Constitution Day to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.

Union Law Minister Arjun Meghwal, Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, Justices BR Gavai and Surya Kant and Supreme Court Bar Association President Kapil Sibal will also speak at the the event.

Meanwhile, several MPs from the Opposition bloc have written to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, appealing to allow Opposition leaders from both Houses to speak during the Constitution Day celebration.

President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar are expected to address the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan on Tuesday to mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly.

“We are writing to you in connection with the ceremony to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India. We understand that the ceremony will be addressed by the President, Vice -president president and prime minister of india The letter signed by the leaders of different parties was quoted by. PTI news agency in his report.

“We believe that in the best traditions and interests of parliamentary democracy, leaders of the opposition (LoP) in both houses should also be given the opportunity to speak on this historic occasion,” it added.

The letter was signed by TR Baalu, Tiruchi Siva, Kanimozhi, Supriya Sule, Raghav Chadha, P Sandosh Kumar, ET Mohammed Bashir, K Radhakrishnan, Ramji Lal Suman and NK Premachandran.
