Remember the brief encounter between Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark and Elon Musk in Marvel’s Iron Man 2? While the creators once shared that Musk partly inspired the on-screen iteration of Tony Stark, never in the wildest dream did anyone imagine seeing the business mogul in an iron suit. Did we do it? Doing the impossible, Elon Musk donned the Iron Man suit, sharing his new look on social media. His superhero moment instantly went viral, sparking a wave of laughter across the internet. Interestingly, it was not just the photo but also Musk’s witty caption that got everyone talking.

In the post, the Tesla CEO could be seen flying through the air as “Irony Man,” something he describes himself as. Musk wants to defeat bad guys with his “power of irony,” he said, further joking: “Oh, you call yourself ‘the Joker,’ so why can’t you tell a joke!” How ironic.”

Musk also noticed how his choices extend to Marvel and DC Comics. “But one is Marvel and the other is DC. Oh no, no more irony,” he wrote in another tweet.

Another wrote: “Irony Man vs. The Woker.”

One joked: “Deadpool isn’t dead and he’s not a pool.”

One user even claimed that Elon Musk would make a better Iron Man and wrote: “Elon would make a much better Iron Man than Robert Downey Jr.”

The post once again proved why Elon Musk never fails to go viral. Earlier in 2022, Iron Man screenwriter Mark Fergus said the titular hero was a mix of Musk, US President Donald Trump and Apple founder Steve Jobs. “In his character (RDJ), Musk combined the brilliance of Jobs with the showmanship of Trump. He was the only one who had the fun side, the celebrity vibe and real commercial substance,” he told New York Magazine.
