Hurricane Helene Community Crisis Fund exceeds $2.3 million

AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF) – The CSRA Community Foundation continues its relief efforts after Hurricane Helene.

According to a press release on Monday, October 28, the following area nonprofits received funds from the second round of grants in the amount of $743,000.

  • American Red Cross – CSRA

  • Apparo Academy

  • Augusta Dream Center

  • EOA CSRA

  • Edgefield County Churches Help Others

  • Edgefield County Youth Empowerment Center

  • Manna

  • Saint Vincent de Paul Society Georgia

  • The Jessye Norman School of the Arts

  • Women in Unity

Since October 8, more than $2.3 million has been distributed to nonprofits working in 18 counties in and around CSRA.

“We are in a unique position to support local nonprofit agencies who are answering the call, helping them access funding and support so they can continue to help our community,” said Shell Berry, President and CEO of the Community Foundation. The hard work of rebuilding our community has only just begun. This is a process that will continue for months and years to come. The Community Foundation is committed to walking alongside our community as we recover from this historic storm.
