Path of Exile II Early Access Delayed to December 6

Grinding games delayed the Early Access launch of free game action-RPG Path of Exile II of his previously planned Release date from November 15 to December 6. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox SeriesAnd PC via Steam And Epic Games Store.

Here is the full message from Path of Exile II Game director Jonathan Rogers on the delay:

Here is the text without the timestamps:

Hello, my name is Jonathan Rogers, game director at Path of Exile II.

Unfortunately, I have very bad news. We need to delay early access for three weeks. The new date is December 6. I’m really sorry about this one. People plan time off and things like that around our launches, but we just have to do it.

So what happened? Well, it turns out it’s not actually the game itself that’s lagging. This is a set of server-side infrastructure work that took us much longer than expected.

Now, one of the main promises we’ve made is that all of your microtransactions will work at once Path of Exile I And II. To do this, we need to integrate accounting systems not only to Path of Exile I And IIbut also for the console realms. This meant changing a lot of things. Not only do we need to create a number of new systems, but we also need to ensure that only old data is backward compatible with them.

And when you start migrating databases that old and with that much data, you find all sorts of strange demons in there. How do multiple accounts get the same name? How do multiple accounts get the same email address? How do multiple accounts have the same Steam credentials? Why is this person’s account name just random gibberish that can’t even be decoded?

We need everything to be perfect so that no one loses what they paid for and their account is not broken. At the same time, because we’re changing all of this back-end code, we have to do a lot of load testing to make sure that everything doesn’t collapse when they could get the large number of players that we have. expected at launch.

I actually believe we could have met the original launch date, but I’m no longer sure we can do it without making mistakes. And those are the kinds of mistakes we simply can’t let happen. So it is with this in mind that we have decided to delay.

Now it’s all my fault. I just didn’t leave enough time to make sure we could do it. And I’m really sorry. This one really hurts.

We will now live stream all the content you can expect. Path of Exile IIEarly access is expected in about four weeks. You can consider this the biggest league announcement we’ve ever made. I’m really looking forward to telling you about the final content that the team has been working hard on.

Until then, thank you very much for your support.
