SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The Sioux City Community School District Board of Trustees provided an update on the search for the next superintendent.

Board chair Jan George says the process is going smoothly, even though the online survey numbers were lower than last time. One thing that excited George was the student input during the town hall meetings that took place over the past few weeks.

“The students themselves, man, I mean, they’re just…I mean being able to go out there and engage and tell us whatever we want, that’s what the character, the characteristics of our leader are what we” “I’m looking,” said George. “And I think it’s a testament to their parents, it’s a testament to the district and the community.”

The school board will hold a special meeting Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Educational Services Center to review the survey data and approve the job profile for the next superintendent.
