Details: The Nordic countries stressed their interest in “further development of cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry”.

Quote: “The Nordic countries have so far pledged 195 million euros in purchases via the Ukrainian defense industry. Extraordinary revenues from stranded Russian assets could be a possible source of financing such initiatives.”

They also reaffirmed their determination to continue supporting and strengthening the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces “in their fight for security and peace in Europe”.

They also expressed support for Ukraine’s Victory Plan and promised to work to strengthen Ukraine’s position ahead of the second peace summit “towards a just and lasting peace.”

Background:

  • In June, Ukraine and Denmark sign a memorandum for the purchase of weapons and equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers by the Nordic country. Denmark became the first country to take such a step.

  • Monday October 28, the Swedish government announcement its decision to allocate 20 million euros to support Ukraine’s industrial base.
