Presidential mentions in newspapers used to be newsworthy. Now they only make the news when they’re not performing. Journalists and the left automatically assume the newspapers will support the Democrats as they do the other 364 days of the year.

But let’s quickly return to the 2024 presidential election, where we are experiencing a real-time audit of media neutrality and seeing the press fail massively.

Liberal contributors to the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post had their projects approved Vice President Kamala Harris the president’s candidacy was canceled and the ensuing uproar was as predictable as their usual list of supporters. Of course they are upset. They spent years claiming that Donald Trump was evil incarnate, but even those who write their checks don’t believe them.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, owns the post office. He wrote an article for the newspaper explaining how journalism has lost credibility and: “Most people think the media is biased.” (Duh.) He admitted part of the problem, noting, “It would be easy to blame others for our long and continuing loss of credibility.” But he didn’t do it. He added that rescinding the endorsements is “a significant step in the right direction.”

Bezos probably won’t win many friends in the media, saying, “Lack of credibility is not unique to the Post.” Our newspaper brothers have the same problem. » And then added: “The Washington Post and the New York Times win awards, but increasingly, we only speak to a certain elite.”

Wapo, Trump, Harris

This approval boycott is contagious. USA Today has just done the unthinkable and kissed him. A spokesperson for the newspaper reportedly told The Daily Beast that the paper will provide readers with “the important facts and reliable information they need to make informed decisions.” The Tampa Times also joined in the fun. The days of newspapers openly expressing their biases may be coming to an end before our eyes.

Here are three other reasons for the left-wing media panic:

The Washington Post ignores the White House endorsement, but the liberal tilt is still evident in the Senate and House.

Give in to Trump

Journalists from both newspapers threw a collective tantrum over the cancellation of the endorsements and others in their field were there to support them. NPR’s David Folkenflik asked if the media was “pulling shots to appease Trump?” » Jarvis DeBerry, editor in chief of MSNBC, said: “The wealthy owners of the Washington Post and the LA Times just capitulated to Trump. » Vanity Fair warned that billionaires were “afraid of retaliation from Donald Trump.” And Slate paraphrased the Post’s slogan: “Democracy’s Death in Darkness.”

CNN’s Reliable Trump Hater Brian Stelter wrote in a special Reliable Sources newsletter, “the appearance of pandering to Trump does real and lasting damage to any business that is not identified as pro-Trump.” Giving in to Trump means not providing full support to your opponent.

Journalists think their bosses might “give in to Trump” because they believe he will win. Journalists are terrified because the bosses are right.

FAR FEWER NEWSPAPERS ENDORSE HARRIS THAN SUPPORT CLINTON OR BIDEN

Go Postie

Because the Post is based in the nation’s capital, the move sparked more media panic. Current and former Post employees lined up to defend their open support for Democrats — as always. (They have supported every Democratic presidential candidate since the 1980s.)

Marty Baron, former editor-in-chief called the newspaper’s decision “cowardice, a moment of darkness that will leave democracy as a victim.” Pulitzer Prize winner and Post deputy editor David Maraniss called the decision “despicable.” He added: “This is not an act of benevolent neutrality but an act of cowardice in the face of the greatest challenge to democracy in our post-World War II lifetime. »

Editors of the opinion pages expressed their anguish under the headline: “Newspaper’s refusal to support presidential candidate is a mistake.” Eighteen Post columnists delivered a generic response saying the move “represents an abandonment of the core editorial beliefs of the newspaper we love.” It was the kind of milquetoast wording guaranteed to protect their big paychecks. (Three outraged Post employees actually resigned.)

THE DAUGHTER OF THE OWNER OF LA TIMES EXPOSES WHY THE PAPER REFUSED TO APPROVE THE 2024 CANDIDATE: “GENOCIDE IS THE LINE IN THE SAND”

Postists all fantasize that they are Woodward and Bernstein still fighting against the evil Nixon presidency. In reality, they are a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party and covered up President Biden’s obvious cognitive problems until he was destroyed in the presidential debate. They do not aspire to become journalists. They want to harm the Republicans.

And of course, the real Watergate duo, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein called the publisher’s action “disappointing” and said it “ignores the Washington Post’s own damning journalistic evidence about the threat Donald Trump poses to democracy.”

This threat to “democracy” is a common media and far-left lie, emanating from media outlets that panic that their endorsed candidate cannot win. What really scares Posties is the threat that Democrats could lose.

Shake up Hollywood

Naturally, celebrities were angry too – either complaining or even canceling their subscriptions. Because one of the two major left-wing newspapers in the United States wasn’t far enough away for them. And this bothers journalists even more, because the far left is their real audience.

Liberal celebrities calling for unfollowers or simply complaining about the lack of endorsers would sound familiar to anyone who follows social media. Actors Henry “the Fonz” Winkler, Jeffrey Wright and Jon Cryer, author Stephen King, New York Daily News sports columnist Mike Lupica and many more. Former Obama and Susan Rice, Biden advisor complained on

The newspaper’s critics and competitors had the last word. Conservatives mocked the far-left purity test that led them to cancel their subscriptions, while The Atlantic begged, “Don’t cancel the Washington Post.” Cancel Amazon Prime.”

The New York Times reminded its readers why it remains the most left-wing newspaper in the United States by endorsing Harris, “the only patriotic choice for president.” The paper openly hates patriotism, except when its staffers think it might convince a few rubes to vote for them.

In reality, journalists don’t care what readers think. Press staff they gave up pretending they were impartial decades ago, even before Gen Z activists invaded their organizations.

The whole episode will give journalists someone to blame if Trump is re-elected. They will never accept that decades of prejudice have completely undermined their influence. And that happened long before their editors fled Harris faster than rats fleeing a sinking ship.
