Donald Trump received a big boost as Republicans took a surprise lead over Democrats in early voting in the battleground state of Nevada.

They hold a five-point advantage in what local observers called an “unprecedented” number of Republican early votes.

This comes as Trump prepares to campaign in Pennsylvania following controversy over his recent rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Kamala Harris is set to deliver her closing argument at an event in Washington DC later today.

Republicans lead in ‘year of the unicorn’ for early voting in Nevada

Republicans have an early lead over Democrats in early voting in the battleground state of Nevada.

About 700,000 people, or half of the expected voters in the state, have already cast ballots.

Registered Republicans have an advantage of 40,000, or 5.7 percent, over registered Democrats.

Jon Ralston, editor of the Nevada Independent, said:

It’s a unicorn year. We have never seen this. There is still a lot of time, but Republicans have reason to be confident in the face of this unprecedented turnout.”

Donald Trump insists he is not a Nazi after controversial rally at Madison Square Garden

Former President Trump denied Monday that he was a Nazi, a day after holding a controversial rally at Madison Square Garden during which speakers used foul and racist language.

Even before the event, critics including Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris’ running mate Tim Walz compared it to a 1939 gathering of Nazi sympathizers at the same venue.

“I am not a Nazi. I’m the opposite of a Nazi,” Trump told thousands of Georgia Tech supporters.

“Now the way they talk is so disgusting and just horrible.”

Trump spent the day in the swing state of Georgia, a day after receiving his supporters in New York.

He was prayed to by the state’s religious leaders in an emotional moment earlier in the day, before gathering a raucous MAGA crowd.
