The city of Providence receives more than $2 million to modernize its aging infrastructure

WEBSTER CO., Ky. (WFIE) – Providence city officials are preparing to make new changes to some of their old infrastructure.

This comes after the city of Providence announced it received $2 million from the Delta Regional Authority.

Its objective is to help states through the community infrastructure fund.

Officials say the money going to Providence will help address existing violations.

It will also provide drinking water and sewage services to all residents of the city.

A total of $25 million was distributed across eight states.
