All announced in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase

An all-new Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase has arrived, bringing tons of new content to upcoming updatesand even a brand new paid expansion filled with new characters, companions, tools, recipes and much more.

Disney Dreamlight Valley has been constantly receiving updates since its release in 2022. Since then, we’ve seen several new characters, kingdomsthe features and even the introduction of Rift in Time Paid Expansion. All these new features kept the fans busy and made them love the adventure.

Now, that adventure will continue after Disney Dreamlight Valley released its showcase, detailing some major new features, a highly anticipated update, and, of course, the all-new paid expansion. So, to make sure you’re all up to date, here’s everything announced in the 2024 Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase.

All content announced for Disney Dreamlight Valley

Announced as part of the game’s free updates, the following features will be available to all players who own the base game.

Sew Delightful Update

Perhaps one of the most anticipated reveals, Gameloft announced that Exit from The Nightmare Before Christmas would arrive as part of the game’s next major update, Sew Delightful.

Arrive on December 4 The Sew Delightful update will have you teaming up with Jack Skellington to save a lost Sally as he communicates with clues to help free her.

In addition to her unlockable quests and friendship challenges, players will be able to explore new furniture and clothing, all inspired by Sally’s classic patchwork look.

With Sally, we got a teaser for the new winter Star Path, which embraces the “Ethereal sides of the season“, featuring furniture, clothing and an icy wand that produces snowflakes around you, making it perfect for DreamSnaps.

Roadmap 2025

While the Sew Delightful update is the only one we know of for 2024, players have been treated to an updated roadmap, both for the free content updates and the upcoming expansion: Storybook Valley.

Free content map probably teases Aladdin And Jasmine at the beginning of 2025, the Cheshire Cat at the Sprint 2025, and finally, the revelation of Mystery of Skull Rock in the summer of 2025.

As for the paid expansion, we know that we will have it in two parts instead of the three that we saw with A Rift In Time. The first will arrive November 20and the second in summer 2025. They will feature Merida, Flynn, Hades and more.

Floating Islands

The next major update is certainly exciting, but Gameloft also announced a brand new feature, which is sure to excite creative gamers.

Floating Islands essentially act like additional purchasable spaces to add to your biomes in Disney Dreamlight Valley. As highlighted in the showcase, four biomes will initially be added: Plaza Island, Forest Island, Sunlit Island, and Frosted Island. Each can be purchased with 15,000 Light of Dreams.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Floating Island

Notably, these will be the same size as their Valley counterparts, but without any restrictions in terms of lakes, trees and immobile objects.

Players can place anything and anyone they want on these islands, from houses, furniture, trees, rocks, paths and much more.

In addition to this, players can invite other people to their floating islands. If you join a game via Valley Tours, you also have access to these islands.

New furniture rotation options

To complete the addition of floating islands, Gameloft announced new customization toolsin the form of additional rotations.

Previously, players could only rotate their items four times, making it quite difficult to place houses, trees, or even large pieces of furniture in your valley. Now, since the Sew Delightful update, players can rotate their items up to 16 different ways.

As highlighted in the Showcase, the same thing happens for paths and fences, although this will not be added yet.

All Paid Expansion Content Announced – Storybook Vale

Announced as part of the game’s newest expansion, the following features will be available to all players who purchase the Storybook Vale expansion:

Storybook Valley

Vale Disney Dreamlight Valley Storybook

Storybook Vale has been announced as the next major expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, available on November 202024. Like the Eternity Isle expansion, Storybook Vale will be a paid addition to DDV.

Upon purchase, players will gain access to an all-new terrain, with several new biomes, characters, quests, and more.

The region tells the story of a land originally located above the Valley of the Dreaming Light, which was taken over by Maleficent and Hades during the Oblivion. However, over time, unrest set in and the two fell out, tearing Storybook Vale apart and causing chaos. Naturally, it’s up to you and a few friends to solve this problem.

New characters

Four new characters will arrive in Storybook Vale:

  • Merida (Brave)

  • Hades (Hercules)
  • Evil (Sleeping Beauty)

Additional Biomes

Storybook Vale Disney Dreamlight Valley biome

As we saw on Eternity Isle, new biomes will be coming to Storybook Vale, although this time there will be three main locations:

  • The connection
  • Forever
  • Mythopoeia

Naturally, each draws inspiration from different stories, with Mythopea resembling Hercules and Greek mythology, the dark academia representing The Bind, and the Scottish/Fae designs featured in Ever After.

Royal Tool – The Royal Net

Vale Disney Dreamlight Valley Royal Net Storybook

In addition to new biomes, characters, and quests to explore, players with the expansion will also receive a brand new royal tool: The royal fillet.

This net will be used to capture Excerptswhich are essentially ancient origami creatures that players must catch, in order to help the storybook inside the Vale. According to Showcase, each has its unique way of being captured and can be quite rare, especially those found in the Valley.

Mini-games and trials

Snippets are a fun little mini-game throughout the expansion, but more will be added, in the form of puzzles and tapestry trials.

A great new way to create a new setting, players can complete puzzles by placing pieces of a tapestry together to create a picture.

In addition to this, new trials will be added to Storybook Vale, with quests and puzzles inspired by fairy tales and myths that many are familiar with. It looks like these will serve as side quests during the main missions, but time will tell.

The new content doesn’t stop at puzzles and quests, as new animals, resources and recipes will happen too.

Players can expect to find Owls in The Connection, Mini-Dragons in Ever After, and Mini winged horses at Mythopée. These will work the same as the previous animal companionsand will each have their own favorite foods and feeding techniques.
