DECATUR, AlabamaFOR WHAT) — A man was arrested and charged with trafficking illegal drugs in Decatur, according to police.

In October, the Decatur Police Department’s narcotics unit said it received complaints about the distribution of illegal narcotics in southwest Decatur.

DPD investigators identified Jarvis Scruggs as the suspect. Throughout the investigation, investigators found probable cause to obtain a search warrant for his home.

On Oct. 28, investigators searched a home on Wimberly Drive SW and the department said they made contact with Scruggs.

During the search, Scruggs was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. Investigators also discovered a firearm and an amount of American currency.

Scruggs was arrested and charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Morgan County Jail on $25,300 bail.
