What we thought of the scents

Juniper and Cardamom:

We found this particular concentrate to be the strongest smelling of the bunch. With a punchy touch of juniper, this zesty scent reminds us of Olbas oil, while cardamom adds a bit of depth, warmth and woody undertones.

Patchouli and cedarwood:

This concentrate was our personal favorite in the trio: not only was the patchouli lovely and sweet, but the hint of musk helped keep the taste at bay. Completed with a touch of lemony cedarwood, we loved how this scent transformed our space.

Lavender and chamomile:

Even though it was our least favorite in the kit, we didn’t hate it by any means. We just don’t like lavender that much. That being said, the chamomile is a little stronger – a factor we selfishly enjoy in this concentrate – although it does have a fairly mild scent.

What we thought of the Purdy & Figg fabric

In the same way that people have an aversion to velvet or suede, we generally can’t stand the feel of microfiber.

But this fabric? Oh. This fabric is a changes the situation.

Besides being our favorite shade of green, this cloth doesn’t cling to your skin like cheap microfiber cloths do.

It cleaned our surfaces well without (!!!) any annoying marks and not only that, but the size and absorbency of this cloth? Yeah. A winner.

The embroidered touch is also a cute little addition.

What we thought of the Bottle for Life

We truly appreciate the commitment to sustainability that Purdy & Figg has reiterated since the beginning of its brand journey.

The refillable spray bottle is so sleek and stylish that it’s reminiscent of Aesop’s minimalist style – it makes us feel very grown-up on cleaning days.

What we thought about the cleaning power

Although not ideal on glass or mirrored surfaces, this versatile spray makes household chores look, feel and smell luxurious.

That being said, it works like any other cleaning product.

But beyond its standard cleaning power, it’s also a good way to make your home smell nice – whether you apply a few drops of concentrate directly to your cloth to spread it over surfaces, or sneakily spray a specific area.

The gentle, long-lasting nature of essential oil concentrates will be gentle on your nose and your environment, while keeping your space nice and clean. And the commitment to sustainability is hard to pass up.

Our verdict?

We really love our Counter Clean Starter Set – from the soothing scents and gentle nature to the philosophy behind the brand and more.

That being said, given that it works like your standard cleaning sprays, we understand that shelling out almost £30 for a starter kit might be a bit much for some…
