Environment Canada has issued wind warnings for Greater Victoria and parts of eastern Vancouver Island this morning.

Strong winds are expected from Nanoose Bay to Campbell River as well as Greater Victoria.

A Pacific frontal system approaching Vancouver Island is expected to produce strong southeast winds this morning, which will ease this afternoon.

Peak southeasterly winds are expected to reach 70 kilometers/hour with gusts to 90 km/h over exposed coastal areas and near Haro Strait.

Strong winds can cause power outages and fallen tree branches.
