Anakeesta raises $33,000 to help with flood relief in East Tennessee

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WATE) — In just 15 days, Anakeesta has raised more than $33,000 to donate to local charities supporting recovery efforts in Cocke County and around East Tennessee.

The company made the announcement on Wednesday, explaining that during its “Anakeesta Cares” initiative which ran from September 1 to 15, it raised $33,263.

During the event, Anakeesta collected $1 from each general admission ticket to donate to local charities helping with basic needs and cleanup efforts following the devastating hurricane flooding Helene.

The funds were donated to:

  • Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennesseewhich supports local families with emergency relief, distributes food to those affected, and provides educational resources to the region.

  • Church of the Passageswhich focused on food insecurity in the region and provided basic necessities to those affected.

  • East Tennessee Foundationwhich provides rapid and effective grants to enable local nonprofit organizations and agencies to save and recover their own communities amid the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene.
