The Dove Block Project, a community arts center in downtown Geneva, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 6 at 10 a.m., unveiling a new plaque honoring the historic Dove Block building.

The event, open to the public, marks the launch of the center’s first annual fundraising campaign.

State Sen. Pam Helming will be the guest of honor, joining other officials to celebrate the historic building, which dates back to 1878 and once served as the studio of American modernist artist Arthur Dove.

The center’s goal is to raise $10,000 to support arts programming and maintain rented space on the first floor of the building.
