Planning a train trip? Do not carry these items | Journey

Train is the most common mode of transportation in India, especially among laymen. Unlike planes, where you can only take a limited number of bags, trains have no restrictions on baggage weight. Additionally, many things are prohibited on airplanes for safety reasons. But few people know that certain items are also restricted on trains. The railway imposes such restrictions, especially during the festival season, when passengers ride uncontrollably. Many people are unaware that carrying certain things on a train is limited.

Don’t take them by train
Diwali falls on a Thursday this year, so if you take Friday off, you can enjoy a long weekend. Now is the perfect time to plan a trip with family or friends. So train stations and bus stops may be busier than usual as more people travel at this time. Meanwhile, the Indian Railway has issued stern warnings regarding items prohibited from being carried on trains. Firecrackers are prohibited inside the train to avoid any incidents. Crackers and other flammable items like gas stoves, gas cylinders, flammable chemicals, acids and foul-smelling items cannot be carried in trains.

There are legal restrictions on the carriage of objects that could threaten the safety of the train or cause inconvenience to passengers. If you are caught in possession of these banned substances, you could face a fine of Rs 1,000 or up to three years of imprisonment, according to Section 164 of the Indian Railways Act.
