THE PS5 ProMicrosoft’s launch is fast approaching and many developers have started implementing updates using the new console technology. This now includes Capcombecause the editor pushed the Dragon’s Dogma 2 PS5 Pro update today.

What is the Dragon’s Dogma 2 PS5 Pro update?

Like most PS5 Pro updates, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will now have dedicated graphics options for the upgraded console. Here are the new features added with the new update according to the patch notes:

• Added PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution to the Graphics section of the Options menu.

• Added “Balanced” as a selection under Graphics Quality in the Graphics section of the Options menu.

In June, Dragon’s Dogma 2 received an update that added some simple graphics options. Graphics quality options can be chosen between “low” and “high” with the ability to switch between ray tracing and motion blur. It also introduces 120Hz support for PS5 if players had a compatible display. It appears that with this new update, PSSR will be its own toggle similar to the ray tracing and motion blur toggles.

This seems to be a departure from some of the PS5 Pro’s other improved graphics modes that have been implemented recently. For example, Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart include a pro performance and pro loyalty mode. These have specific resolution, graphics, and frame rate goals built into the graphics mode. Dragon’s Dogma 2’s PS5 Pro graphics mode appears to be a simple toggle for its machine learning technology, and players can then choose which graphics, frame rate, and other visual settings they want to enable.

The update also brings other changes and fixes to the game. Here are the rest of the fixes listed in the patch notes:

• Fixed an issue during “Nesting Problems” where throwing the pot of poison into the saurian nest would not progress the quest.

• Fixed an issue where Calm or Simple Tilt Pawns would cease all activity after failing to use “Levitate”.

• Fixed an issue where the minimap would repeatedly zoom in and out when passing through the Hermit’s Retreat.

• Fixed an issue where the power of the “Maelstrom” spell was significantly increased when Myrddin fought with the player’s party.

• Fixed an issue where no sound effects were played when changing categories in the character creator.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is just one of the completed games. 80 video games receive improvements dedicated to the PS5 Pro. The new and improved console is expected to launch on November 7, 2024 and costs $699.99.
