Anna Kendrick slams director for embarrassing her in front of 100 extras on set: ‘fuck you’

Anna Kendrick had some choice words for an anonymous director with whom she had a “disgusting” experience.

THE “Pitch Perfect” star recalls the time a director embarrassed her on the set of a movie in front of 100 extras during her recent appearance on Monday’s episode of Podcast “Happy Sad Confused” by Josh Horowitz.

The incident took place after the filmmaker suggested that she improvise one of her scenes.

After completing the task, he showed he was unfazed by the ridicule with a sarcastic comment, she revealed.

“I did it, and then the director called Cut and came over and, again in front of 100 extras, he said, ‘Oof, let’s get back to the script!'” she recalled during the recording live.

The actress was quick to call the situation a “very specific power move,” saying the director’s intention was to “embarrass” her and “gain dominance” over her.

“It was really gross,” added Kendrick, who recently made her directorial debut and starred in Netflix’s “Woman of the Hour.”

Despite the director’s crude comments about her improvised scene, the moment ended up being featured in a trailer for the film.

“And then what I improved ended up in the trailer,” Kendrick said on the podcast. “Then fuck you!”

In his new film, Kendrick plays Cheryl Bradshaw – an unsuspecting woman who ended up with serial killer Rodney Alcala after they both starred in an episode of “The Dating Game.”

The film is based on the true story of Alcala, who was later recognized as the Dating Game Killer.

Alcala, played by Daniel Zovatto in the film, was arrested in 1979. Police linked him to at least seven deaths of women, but he is believed to have killed as many as 130 people.

He was convicted of murdering four women and a 12-year-old girl, but pleaded not guilty. Alcala was sentenced to death and died on July 24, 2021 of natural causes at age 77 while on death row in California.

“The Woman of the Hour” is currently available to stream on Netflix.
