With the launch of the SearchGPT prototype, which is the advanced search version of the existing ChatGPT, OpenAI is ready to take on its competitor Google, which has learned to provide answers in real time.

According to OpenAI, the new SearchGPT feature will allow users to get quick and timely answers using links to relevant web sources, for which you would previously have had to go to a search engine.

“This combines the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes and much more,” OpenAI added.

ChatGPT vs SearchGPT/ChatGPT Search

The ChatGPT created by Open-AI crawls the web based on what you ask, or you can manually choose to search by clicking the web search icon to get answers in real time.

On the other hand, ChatGPT Search, powered by an improved version of OpenAI’s GPT-4 model, provides real-time information and images directly from web sources and links.

This can help in getting real-time information and updates such as sports scores, news, stock prices, etc., and these will be presented with links to credible sources. Users can also ask follow-up questions to refine their searches.
