Last day for in-person early voting

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – We’re just four days away from Election Day, and Friday is the last day you can vote early.

With the race for the White House on the minds of millions across the country, two congressional candidates have recently focused their attention on Springfield.

These candidates are the outgoing Democratic deputy Richard Neal and his opponent Nadia Milleron.

Neal has represented this district for decades, but independent Milleron says it’s time for change in Washington.

Neal has served his district in the United States House of Representatives since 1988.

Western Mass News caught up with him Thursday at Union Station, where he was celebrating funding for the planned East-West rail project. He discussed some of his major accomplishments as leader of the Ways and Means Committee.

One of them being the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act.

We asked the longtime congressman what his agenda would look like if voters gave him another term in the nation’s capital.

“By extending the subsidies for the ACA we will pay the tax bill that we owe, the expiration date is at the end of 2025…Again, the outcome next Tuesday will determine the number of these coins” The legislative provisions continue to be debated with the expiration of this tax package, I think we clearly have some leverage,” he says.

Meanwhile, Nadia Milleron is running for office for the first time, but she has experience passing laws.

In 2019, his daughter was killed in a Boeing 737 plane crash.

As a result, she traveled to Washington, D.C. to help pass the Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act in 2020, which ensures that planes meet the proper criteria before taking off.

If chosen to represent the more than 767,000 people who live in this district, Milleron told Western Mass News she would adjust how the office is run and health care for LA residents. Bay.

“Health personnel problem, because in our district we have to pay for health insurance, but we actually have to wait months before we can get an appointment, so we weren’t covered,” she says.

Once again, Friday is the last day you can vote early, with Election Day being next Tuesday.
