Uber driver racially abused and car briefly hijacked after hotel pick-up

An Uber driver was allegedly subjected to racist insults and had his car briefly impounded during an incident in October.

The Uber driver picked up four people, three men and a woman, from Guy’s Thatched Hamlet in Bilsborrow at around 1.17am on Friday 4 October.

The Uber was heading towards Preston along the A6 with the passengers but stopped after a short distance and the passengers were ejected.

The driver also left the vehicle before a person, who police say is pictured below, got into the driver’s seat and drove approximately 10 meters.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the person in the photo.
