The Rams defense is seriously disrespected

This season, the much-maligned Los Angeles Rams defense has had its ups and downs. Injuries have decimated the Rams roster. Yet no unit has been hit with more injuries than the Rams defense.

However, the unit has gradually improved over the past few weeks, with the Rams winning their previous two games in a row.

Yet while the Rams’ defense has improved recently, Pro Football Network’s Ben Rolfe ranked it 23rd in the National Football League, giving the unit a D.

While the rating may seem a bit extreme, it’s worth noting that at the halfway point of the season, the Rams still have plenty of pieces to build around.

“After really struggling in the first three weeks, the Los Angeles Rams have made tremendous progress over the last month,” Rolfe said. “The last three weeks have been particularly promising, as they finished in the top 15 against the Packers and Vikings while dominating the Raiders’ offense. It’s not an easy series, and they did well to have strong performance at least in all three areas.

“There’s still a lot of work to be done on the Rams, but their metrics aren’t as red as they once were. Most intriguingly, they’re in the top 10 in scoring rate. pressure without blitzing, which is one area that should help them improve in other aspects that they have struggled with thus far. Getting more out of their offense should also help take the focus off of this defense. , although it could be the opposite if they find themselves in 60-point shootouts every week.

The Rams defense sits just outside the top 10 in yards and first downs allowed this season, even with the injuries the unit has suffered. Even though the Rams defense was rated unfavorably for its performance in the first half of the season, the season is far from over.

There is still plenty of time to Rams‘ defense to improve with additional snaps on game days. Several Rams players are receiving more playing time than initially anticipated, which will only help improve the Rams’ depth and development of young players.
