Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Friday that Love is officially questionable to play against the Lions on Sunday.

Love is suffering from a groin injury and he said earlier this week that it would be “realistic” for him to play in Week 9. Green Bay injury report listed Love also limited to Thursday’s practice, but he didn’t practice at all Wednesday.

In six games this season, Love has totaled 1,547 yards with 15 passing touchdowns and nine interceptions.

If ready for Week 9, Love remains a solid fantasy option at quarterback.

Because he plays in a deep and talented Packers offense, Love is still a threat to pile up passing touchdowns, as he has thrown for at least three scores three times this season. Love and the Packers also have a strong matchup against the Lions defense this week, which allows the sixth-most passing yards per game (247.6) in the NFL.

While Love’s official status for Week 9 remains up in the air, if he plays he could be a boom-or-bust type option at quarterback in an important NFC North game.

No. 1: Jordan Love

Love remains one of the best quarterbacks in the NFC. He helped the Packers average 27.0 points per game this season, the sixth-best mark in the NFL.

If he’s not healthy enough to face Detroit on Sunday, it would be Love’s third missed game of the 2024 season so far.

No. 2: Malik Willis

Willis has already replaced Love this season, posting three passing touchdowns and no interceptions in four games played after being traded by Tennessee before the start of the season.

The third-year quarterback also has an elite impact in the running game, owning 137 rushing yards on 16 carries this season.
